A Python package to support metadata attribute management for Space Weather data processing pipelines. SAMMI (Shared Attribute and Metadata Management Interface) represents metadata requirements as layered YAML schemas: its CdfAttributeManager loads and merges global (file-level) and variable (measurement-level) schema layers in latest-priority order, then generates validated dictionaries of global and variable attributes that a pipeline embeds in its CDF data products. The bundled default schemas cover the attributes required for ISTP compliance, with additional layers for the CF, ACDD, and NASA GES-DISC metadata conventions; a mission extends or overrides them by adding its own layers rather than by editing the package. SAMMI also generates templates of the required attributes and per-attribute documentation, and its CDFValidator submits an existing CDF file to the SPDF ISTP validation service and returns the parsed list of compliance errors. Because SAMMI manages metadata only — writing the data file itself is left to the pipeline's CDF library — it can be adopted incrementally by any pipeline that produces CDF products. SAMMI is a SWxSOC project and can be used together with other SWxSOC packages or standalone; it is used in production by the SWxSOC core package and by the IMAP Science Operations Center's processing pipeline.
